Afroditi Liti
Sculptress-ASFA professor

Ι.Ι.   What is the source of your inspiration?
A.L. My source of inspiration comes from the dense forests.

Ι.Ι.   Which is your most beautiful creation in stainless steel and why does it stand out?
A.L. One of my pieces that I can distinguish is “The Tree of Life” (around 20m high and 8m long) placed in the Greeks square in Odessa, created in 2004 for the anniversary of the Society of Friends.

Ι.Ι.   Based on what criteria are you choosing stainless steel on your projects?
A.L. The criterion for picking this material is the desired result that it contributes to the piece, which is a cold, from -another world- light. I also appreciate it for its endurance properties.

Ι.Ι.   When was your first contact with stainless steel in your creations?
A.L. My first contact with stainless steel was for my piece “The hosting of the migratory” in Porto Karas (Chalkidiki 2000). This piece was built for the taking of the European Presidency by Greece.

Ι.Ι.   Do you believe that stainless steel figures between the materials of the future?
A.L. I do believe stainless steel is the material of the future thanks to its great durability in outdoor spaces and to its malleability.

Ι.Ι.   What would your advice be to a new artist that would use stainless steel in his projects?
A.L. At the ASFA (Athens School of Fine Arts) where I teach stainless steel is one of the materials I suggest the future artists use in their creations.

Ι.Ι.   Tell us a few words on your cooperation with Ieronimakis Inox S.A.:
A.L. Working with Ieronimakis Inox has always been and will be always perfect, as not only there is immediacy in production, the quality of work and materials, I also feel that through the suggestions and advice given by the Ieronimakis Inox team my work is especially highlighted and I would like to thank them for that.
