Konstantinos Metzitakos (Project /Construction Manager at Louis Berger Group,Systra,Canarail,SCEC RPMC) talks over his love for engineering and remembers good moments from his career so far

I.I.     What’s your source of creativity?
K.M.    Nature.

I.I.     Which and when was your first professional contact with stainless steel?
K.M.    Year 2001-2002 Athens Metro expansion, Line “Ethniki Amina-Doukissis Plakentias” Chalandri station – Ieronimakis Inox.

I.I.     Do you believe that stainless steel will continue exist in future projects?
K.M.    Of course, considering budgets and study or client requirements. It is one of the most popular and man friendly materials.

I.I.     Based on which criteria do you choose stainless steel for your projects?
K.M.    Durability, quality, finishing, elegance, architectural expansion, functionality, hygiene, maintenance.

I.I.     Which is your favorite project and why does it stand out?
K.M.    I don’t want to forget any of my “children”, but I believe the Metro Station Elaionas (tunnel sectioning-sphere) has won the impressions thanks to its complicated solutions on matters of volume and construction (many sleepless nights!).

I.I.     What would you advice a new architect that would like to use stainless steel in his projects?
K.M.    To be original, to “have fun”, to take advice from the experts on constructions and to “dare”! The result will be rewarding!

I.I.     Tell us a few words about your cooperation with Ieronimakis Inox:
K.M.    I have no words! (Experience – collaboration – solidarity – solutions – innovation –fellowship – understanding)
PROFESSIONAL AND HUMAN IN HARMONY! I recall only the “best” of memories, even when the circumstances were all against us! I wish the new generation continues the same way in harmony, with success and I would like to express a huge “Thank you” to the «ΜASTER” George Ieronimakis for everything he taught me!
